| The Huoshaotan gold deposit in Youyu County of Shanxi Province is located in the southeast of theWulashan-Daqingshan gold district. The characteristics of ore-forming fluids and the gold migration and precipita-tion mechanisms not only play an important role in carrying out the next step of mineral exploration in the region,but also provide the theoretical guidance for studying the similar mineral deposits. To address the above-mentionedissues, we conduct the studies of the geological characteristics of mineral deposits and the temperature, pressure, sa-linity, and density of fluid inclusions in quartz. The results of the field geological investigation and the engineeringexploration show that the attitude of the ore bodies is consistent with the ductile shear zone in the study area, andthe ore type belongs to the structural altered rock type. The characteristics of fluid inclusions in quartz indicate thatthe inclusions consist of the gas-liquid inclusions and gas inclusions with a few gas-liquid-solid fluid inclusions.The ore-forming fluids are mainly characterized by the medium-high temperature (160-400 ℃ ), low salinity (0-10%), and low density (0.741-1.107 g/cm3). In addition, the average pressure and depth of mineralization are lim-ited to 46.2 MPa and 3.66 km, respectively. Integrated with our results and previous studies, we deem that the mi-gration and precipitation of gold is related to the numerous factors, such as the hydrothermal channels provided bythe ductile shear zones (brittle structure), the total sulfur concentration decrease, the reduction of temperature andpressure, the increase of oxygen fugacity, the fluid-rock reactions, the fluid immiscibility. The formation of theHuoshaotan gold deposit is related to the Triassic regional brittle extension and the activities of the ore-formingfluid along the ductile shear zone. |
