| This paper systematically reviews the analytical and testing methods for rare earth elements in rockand soil samples. The traditional chemical analysis methods cover the gravimetric method and the titration method.The spectroscopic techniques mainly include Inductively Coupled Plasma Optical Emission Spectrometry(ICP-OES),which enables simultaneous multi-element detection and has a wide linear range,and X-ray Fluorescence Spectroscopy(XRF), featuring simple spectral lines and rapid testing. Mass spectrometry techniques primarilyinclude Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry(ICP-MS) with a sensitivity reaching the ppt level, capable of determining rare-earth full elements and isotope ratios,and Secondary Ion Mass Spectrometry(SIMS) that can perform micro-nano scale analysis,often applied to the study of rare earth distribution in single minerals. Additionally,the neutron activation method is also included. Each of these methods has its own merits and demerits,providing diverse options for rare earth element analysis. This paper summarizes sample digestion,separation, and enrichment techniques in the pre-treatment of rare earth sample analysis, and conducts comparisons and selections of analysis methods for different types of samples. At the end of this paper,an outlook on cutting-edge technologies and future trends is provided,aiming to offer a theoretical reference for scientific research and testing,and to promote the continuous development and innovation of rare earth element testing technologies. |
